At Taqwa School, our educational program is grounded in the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0. We provide a rigorous, balanced, and future‑focused learning pathway from Kindergarten to Year 10, ensuring every student develops strong foundations in knowledge, skills, and character.
Our curriculum is designed to:

How We Teach (Our Approach)
Our teaching is based on evidence‑informed practice and strong relationships. We aim for classrooms that are explicit and structured in core skill areas, rich in inquiry and critical thinking, engaging, inclusive, and values‑aligned, and supportive of differentiation so each child is appropriately challenged.
We incorporate:

General Capabilities & Cross‑Curriculum Priorities
Across all subjects, students are supported to develop the General Capabilities, including Literacy and Numeracy, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, Ethical Understanding, Intercultural Understanding, and Digital Literacy.
We also embed the Cross‑Curriculum Priorities:

Assessment, Reporting & Progress
Assessment is used to support learning and measure achievement against curriculum standards.
Families receive:
- ongoing feedback through learning platforms and teacher communication
- formal reports twice per year
- parent‑teacher interviews and learning conferences
- clear information about student achievement levels and next steps
Curriculum Information for Families (Accessibility)
To ensure families can easily understand and engage with our curriculum, we provide:
1. Curriculum Overviews
Each year we announce:
- whole‑school curriculum overview through year level parent meetings
- term learning snapshots, including key topics and assessment tasks (available on request)2. Parent Information Sessions
We run curriculum and learning information sessions throughout the year, including:
- Start‑of‑year “Meet the Teacher”
- Year transition information sessions (e.g., Year 6–7)
- targeted workshops (e.g., Literacy, Numeracy, Digital Safety, Senior Pathways)
- Year level parent meetings discussing the curriculum and the program
Dates are announced to parents via email on our newsletter.
3. Ongoing Communication
We keep families informed via:
- newsletters and email updates
- class and year‑group messages
- parent portal announcements
- school surveys and feedback forums
When curriculum updates are proposed, families are notified in advance, with:
- an explanation of the change
- the reason for the change
- how student learning will be supported
- opportunities for parent questions and feedback
Supporting Every Learner
We believe every student can succeed with the right support.
Inclusive Education & Adjustments
Students with learning needs receive support aligned with:
- Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
- classroom adjustments (i.e., scaffolded tasks)
- small‑group or targeted intervention
- collaboration with families and external professionals
Extension & Enrichment
High‑achieving students may be offered:
- enrichment projects
- subject acceleration where appropriate
- academic competitions and clubs
- leadership and community learning opportunities
