Taqwa School Prime Minister’s XI Cricket Experience

Thanks to the Usman Khawaja Foundation, students at Taqwa School have been participating in free cricket clinics during Term 4. As part of this program we were invited to attend the Prime Minister’s XI cricket match against Pakistan.

This is a long running tradition where a team of veterans and young up-and-comers play against the international touring sides.

As part of the experience, some students welcomed the players onto the field during the anthem ceremony, while all the students attending were able to play cricket on Manuka Oval during the lunch break.

This was a wonderful chance for the students to get up close and personal. The cricket players were very accommodating in giving time and autographs to the crowd.

Thank you to Cricket ACT and the Usman Khawaja Foundation for having us involved. We are hoping to organise some further cricket matches against local schools early next year.
