Taqwa School at North/Gungahlin Athletics Carnival

Taqwa School had 30 students competing at the North/Gungahlin Athletics Carnival. Over 1000 students competed in running, jumping and throwing events, aiming to reach the top 4 and proceed to the ACT Athletics Carnival.

The school has been looking to attend more carnivals and sporting days. The group gave some great efforts and had the chance to mingle with students from schools across the region.

School captain Faazil Ahmed had our best performance, with 5th in the discus event. He was also 15th in Shot Put. 

Majura Primary was the overall winner on the day. The carnival was organised by our own Mr Daniel Boyle, with Mr Umar Ashraf ensuring results were accurate as the Meet Manager Assistant. Our team was supervised by Miss Marcia Dawson.
