Message from the Principal

Assalam'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

My dear brothers and sisters,

Alhamdolillah, we are approaching Ramadan. May Allah bless you and your family.

By the grace of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, we are on track to commence Years 7 & 8 classes from January 2024. As most of you can see, the building construction to house Years 7 & 8 is at an advanced stage and is on track for completion by August 2023 in sha Allah.

We are also applying for government funding to build classrooms for Years 9 & 10, which we plan to commence in January 2025. With your suport and du’a, in sha Allah, we shall succeed. 

If you have a student currently studying in Years 6 or 7,  we invite you to complete the consent form for admission at Taqwa School in 2024 which can be found on the school website. This will help us get government approval for starting these classes in 2024. 

If you currently have a Year 7 or 8 students, please complete the consent for your child to be admitted to Year 9 or 10 at Taqwa School in 2025.

Alhamdulillah, Taqwa School is growing and now has over 200 students in nine classes in the Primary section. We have also started registration of students for Years 7 & 8 commencing next year. Alhamdulillah student registrations for next year are going extremely well with some classes almost full. If you intend for your child/ren to study at the school next year, you are highly encouraged to complete their registration ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Despite the acute shortage of teachers, we started two new classes in the Primary section at the start of this year. Alhamdulillah, we now have enough teachers to take care of all nine classes including special needs students. We also now have our new Deputy Principal to fulfill the role of an Executive Teacher whose duties are to plan and monitor the curriculum, assessments and professional development of teachers. Alhamdulillah the Arabic and Islamic Studies section is flourishing with the required number of quality teachers now on board. We also have a number of relief teachers and Learning Support Assistants to ensure the uninterrupted operation of daily classes. We are also actively looking for Years 7 & 8 teachers for 2024. If you know of any eligible teacher/s willing to work at Taqwa School, please ask them to contact me. We pay highly competitive salaries which are at par with public schools.  

Lastly, the blessed month of Ramadan is just around the corner. Your generous donations towards sponsoring students who are struggling to pay fees would not go unrewarded in sha Allah. The school has helped such students with tens of thousands of dollars in the past but the school is at a critical juncture where it needs to channel its funds toward expanding the school so it can better serve the Muslim community in Canberra in sha Allah. Please contact me or the front office if you wish to support these students. May Allah Subhanahu wa Taala reward you abundantly for your generous and sincere donations, and make it sadaqah jaariyah for you.
