Junior Engineers After School Coding Program

Taqwa school is proud to be a partner with Minecraft Education in the ‘Junior Engineers After School Coding Program’. This program is already running in NSW and Queensland. Taqwa is the first school to provide this program, whose details are as follows.

This program will start running from Term 1, 2023 and is suitable for school children aged 7-12 . The program will teach fundamentals of coding. Skillset outcomes that can be expected are: Teamwork; Peer Interaction; Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills; Persistence and Determination. The program will run one day per week in the school from 3:45 – 5:00 PM.

Each week, students will be working on a new project where they are challenged to use programming principles in order to create, explore and add motion to objects within the program.

Each term there will be a different concept being taught, making sure that returning students benefit from a continuous learning path. Highly structured curriculum will allow for new students to join the class in any term throughout the year confidently.

For a detailed curriculum of our activities, please find our Minecraft annual curriculum attached.

  • Proposed times: Thursdays from 3:45pm – 5:00pm
  • Course duration: 8 weeks
  • Cost per student: $265 per term, which equates to just over $33 per class.

Students are welcome to bring their own laptops. If using a Chromebook or iPad, we strongly suggest a detachable keyboard.

There are limited spaces available for this program. Please let us know if you would like to secure a place for your child in this program.
